The Launchpad
Process

Sourcing:   Launchpad relies on its membership to find companies
that meet our investing and business criteria. We also accept
executive summaries submitted through our
website.

Screening:   A screening meeting with the company will be held to
determine if there is a possible investment opportunity for
Launchpad. If the company passes, we will ask for an electronic
version of their business plan which is sent to all of our members
before the company's presentation.

Presenting:   Launchpad meets on the second Wednesday of each
month in the Boston area. During a typical meeting, we review two
companies. Each company gives a 10 minute presentation with
questions and answers afterward. We discuss each company
among ourselves and call each presenter later the same day to
discuss our interest.

Due Diligence:   If we are interested in making an investment, we will
start a due diligence process. One or more of our members who are
interested in the company and have some knowledge of the
company's business and technology will have an initial meeting with
the candidate. Through a series of follow-on meetings and
discussions, we will decide whether to proceed.

Investment:   Once due diligence is complete, individual Launchpad
members decide whether to make an investment. We try to move
rapidly through the due diligence and investing stages so that our
portfolio companies can stop raising money and focus on growing
the business.
